36EXP /// a call for unprocessed roll films /// 2019
MANUELA NADDEO / (Italy)
Riverrun
Not the characters or the common spaces given and taken from time: the real protagonist of the film is the river. The scenes, taken along the shores of the Sarno river, from its source to its mouth, to the neighbouring beaches, draw up the transition, in just 24km, from the fruition of the river to the impotence at it - maybe reflecting that “you cannot step twice into the same stream”. the word, taken from Literature and here used as title , surrenders the images to a reading order in which the beginning and the end are hard to identify - to the utopian gentleness. |
Riverrun

TOMMASO PASSANTE (Italy)
Linee
The project focuses on the study of ordinary objects, apparently not worth looking at, with the purpose of highlighting some lines/curves/abstract shapes that become the subject of pleasant and harmonic compositions. |
Linee
Tommaso Passante is a silent and extremely observing guy who loves the artistic meaning of photographs as well as the technical point of view of instruments and tecniques used to realize them. For some time now, beside his digital equipment, he's been using some 50-year-old “pieces of junk” to expose film that he learns to develop and print at home: finally he knows completely the magic behind the realization of a photograph..and falls in love again.
|
